Post Offer Employment Testing (POET) evaluates a job candidate’s ability to safely meet the physical demands of a specific position after a conditional offer has been extended. At Ergo Rehab, we partner with employers to help reduce workplace injuries, improve employee placement, and support long-term workforce safety.
Our POET assessments typically last about an hour and focus on:
Functional strength (lifting, pushing, pulling)
Flexibility and range of motion
Postural tolerances (standing, squatting, crawling)
Endurance and cardiovascular readiness
Task-specific requirements (e.g., carrying materials, repetitive movement)
Ensures candidates can meet essential job functions
Reduces risk of injury or re-injury
Provides employers with defensible, job-specific documentation
Helps match the right candidate to the right role
Each assessment is customized to the physical demands of the job description and conducted in accordance with ADA and EEOC guidelines.
